THE MELFORD ROOM

The Melford room offers a real sense of space and French doors look out into the distance toward the soaring octagonal spires of Melford Hall.

A small patio area provides outside seating so guests can enjoy the views of Melford Hall.

The main bedroom features an opulent freestanding brass bath and hand polished radiators. An ensuite bathroom includes a large walk in shower with luxury tiles. The bedroom is very well appointed with wooden floors, there is a small additional seating area inside to read and relax.

Just outside the main gate of The Mill is an expanse of grass land; and Melford Green lies just to the North. These areas offer a perfect place for walking and cycling with longer routes in abundance all around the village and around the nearby villages of Lavenham and Clare.

The Melford Room is very well equipped and stocked with a large flat screen TV, gorgeous toiletries by Bramley and tea & coffee making facilities.

We are a family home and do not employ staff, therefore our check in is between 4pm and 7pm. If you are wishing to check-in outside of these hours we will happily try to accommodate this but it must be arranged at time of booking.

Please note you may not be able to check in outside of these times if you have not pre-arranged! Please see our terms and conditions.

Breakfast is served in the conservatory of the main house 8.30am – 9.30am.

11am.

We are sorry but we do not accept children or pets.

Free use of our bicycles is available anytime! Just grab them and go; we offer four hand written routes from easy to hard, around the local area.

Please note you will need a roof rack on your car to transport the kayaks to the river. We have everything else you need including straps to tie the kayak on top of your car and we will show you have to do this safely if required. We have a large double Kayak seating two people with sturdy seats, paddles and a dry bag.

We kindly ask that you let us know in advance if you are considering taking the kayak; the put in point is the car park near Sudbury rowing club, on Quay Lane, Sudbury.

There is a gorgeous paddle (apx 1.5 hours) to the Little Henny Swan (a pub on the river) where you can have lunch and a beer before paddling back to Sudbury! The river is flat, very still and non tidal so the day can be very relaxing indeed! The kayaks are heavy and don’t wobble much so are perfect for beginners and above with a medium degree of fitness.
